The point is, what Matt was doing was un-ethical. As a web developer–he knew what he was doing was questionable
Shelley gives us some other thoughts
"because what matters is the code, not the purity of actions peripherial to the code, or its release."
David says it best "The mistake definitely wasn't making money. It was making money in a way that works against the interests of the Web community".
There is some good commentary on the issue too.
I think that blopsphere should disect the issue, but do not murder Matt, please !!
