"..faking it is much like the phenomenon Princeton philosophy professor Harry Frankfurt describes in his recent bestselling book On Bullshit. "The essence of bullshit is not that it is false but that it is phony," he writes. "The bullshitter is faking things. But this does not mean that he necessarily gets them wrong." To put it another way: SUVs can be driven off-road, but according to auto industry surveys only five percent of them ever are. So the sales pitch used to woo drivers isn't false; it's phony.
Likewise, the new fakers are not frauds but fabulists, in the sense of people who spin fables. When WorldCom's Scott Sullivan inflates earnings by $3.8 billion, he is swindling; when Richard Branson presells tickets for the first Virgin Galactic space flight, he is faking it."
One thing with Tom - he is coming out with greater clarity in thoughts and purpose. I remember some time ago he went into limbo and needed to go thru a phase of introspection, thought, feelings etc. He blogged it (its somewhere on this blog ..could not find the linky)
Anyhoot, I would really recommend you take a couple of this previous postings from that point of time and then a couple of his most recent postings and then tell me if you do not see the remarkable difference in his insight !! Its an very interesting transformation process that I see.
What do you see eh ??
P.S Tom, you will get a ping back, could you leave the blog entry in comments section so that I readers can follow all linkys ??
