rking_sixty_small.jpg
"When Tom hit the Magic 60 a couple of years ago, he compiled 60 TIBs (TIB=This I Believe) ... one for each year of his life. Many of you have read these powerful maxims in a PDF booklet, but you ain't seen nothin' yet !!"

I ordered for it !! Hey Tom, do me a favour, could you autograph before sending ?? :)-

Update 10/13 : Had issues with getting this book. Had to reachback to the WOW! store. The store shipped via UPS and I am being asked to fork out $37.95 , yeah thats 40 bucks as additional (brokerage )fee!!  No can't do is my stance. Hopefully Rachel of TomPeters.com  will resolve this issue. I emailed andgot immediate attention and no BS along the way from Tompeters Group. Now -- that is customer Service !!  No wonder I am a fan of his team !!  Hey Tom,  Give Rachel a pat on the back !!

Intecept Testing !!

Missile Defense Agency (MDA), Independent Review Team (IRT) issued a Final Report;

the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) would scale back testing, largely to save itself embarrassment.

Glaxay and Sun !!

Sun luanches Glaxay. Jonathan writes an open letter to their employees !!!

CNN HACKS

Xeni gives a good cut on the CNN hacks taking place in the Situation Room . I wrote her

"I think we are just at the tip of the iceberg. Think of "SiutationsRoomV2.0" with  “full-content” feeds like raw TCP/IP socket streaming, Jabber/XMPP JEP-0060, Streaming Atom, etc etc.. what will happen then ??? We will not have news annchors, we'll only have moderators and controllers of a "News Dash board" !!!!"

Memorundum and FeedMesh ?

Gabe Rivera of memeorandum fame is bashing it out with Bob Wyman on the feedmesh working group

Sam Ruby provided a primer on Feedmesh

COnfidential Culls ??

Jeff calls for confidential-source blogging: Someone who’s at the conference should feed all the juicy bits to Winer for him to blog from outside.

I second the thought !!! :)-

Corporate Speak -dying ??

Company Mission statements often remind me of a less-funny session of Mad Libs: " We (COMPANY) exist to provide (ADJECTIVE) customer service and provide (ADJECTIVE) solutions for (NOUN)." Thought that Nestle had a refreshing take on mission mumbo-jumbo.

Via : WorthWhile

This is the first time, I am seeing such Corporate Mission statements. In case you find something like this could you send me the link in. I am now discovering that some  companies are moving onto the cluetrain . MSFT were the first there, I think !!

clickety-clack secrets

"The clickety-clack of your keyboard might be enough to spill your secrets. A team of researchers in California has successfully decoded what was typed into a computer from an audio recording"

This is pretty freaky !! just think of having a microphone in a room and you can hook it up to another a computer in another room, which actually transmits a message set to you. That is you read everything that your kid (someone) maybe typing out at their computer.

This seems to be a like an audioable Key logger ??

Bandwidth/Image Stealing

Another incident of Bandwidth stealing. Tim from Ongoing has his side of the story here

I also was once hauled up by Susan Kitchans  of 2020hindsight, I placed that conversation here.

I believe that bloggers are actually more freaked out that their images are being used without permission rather then bandwidth usage  Would this be the root emotion that makes bloggers block out image usage  or it really bandwidth ?

Yes, if there is s spike in bandwidth I just might want to monitor it so that I dont reach my peak allocations for the month. Yet, if someone is pulling images and using as their own, it will freak me out, that would be outright stealing. Now, if I don't download images but only linkin, that steals bandwidth from the other blogger too.. IT seems that folks are now placed in the "cross hair's"

Katerina Debit Cards Used in STrip bars ?

IntheFaith bring me this snippet :

"On the heels of a report earlier this week that Atlanta area Katrina victims were using $2,000 debit cards to purchase luxury items like Louis Vuitton handbags, Houston police yesterday discovered the cards, provided by FEMA and the Red Cross, being used at local strip clubs."

fullstory here

I personally hope that these type of dudes and dudettes really have a backup plan. Once this Cash goes dry where the heck will they get more ??
