I really suck at networking and have not given it the due dilgence it required of me. This is a good article for those who feel the same as me !!
Always offer to help someone even it you don’t know how to do it. Levitan never turns someone in need down, and if she can’t help, will find someone who can.
• Give selflessly. “When you help someone,” says Levitan, “don’t expect you’ll get something back. While some people will return the favor and others won’t, the important thing is that you’ll feel good making a difference in someone’s life. And I guarantee over time you will see it returned in spades.”
• Don’t forget people. Levitan is always finding ways to help people in her vast network and finding reasons to stay in touch.
• Be clear when you ask for help. “Don’t be frivolous when you reach out to meet people,” advises Levitan. "Give people a valid reason why you want to connect with them."
Its been like 7 days since I got Mr.Socks. In the last 7 days he has learnt

A ruptured disk pressed against Glenn Mangurian's spinal cord several years ago, leaving the lower half of his body permanently paralyzed. One minute, Mangurian was healthy and secure in his career as a management consultant; the next, his life was transformed and filled with uncertainty. The injury has taught him volumes about resilience and leadership. "Realizing What You're Made Of" by Glenn Mangurian seems to be a good book to buy , specially given the predicament that I in- being unemployed ,not having steady cashflow and struggling to keep my sanity level in balance !!
Sutha points me to a couple of nice pointers

As far it seems impossible to keep a fair and open mind, the last 45 days have been pretty good to me, and I it seems that going free agent is the best route for me. Here are a couple of things that have been said /commented to me;
"You are an independent success waiting to happen. "- Rob S
"Whatever they say, it won't be the same anymore in the Regional office" - Mylene M
"We met Dan Pink once, and he said Brand Yous jump voluntarily or are pushed into being on their own. Good luck as a free agent. " - Cathy - a Tom Peters Member

I had some good friends over for lunch. Say Hi to Mylene (Standing), Penny (left) and Kelly (right).
These are friends that I have a lot of experience with. We have fought like cats and dawgs, but at the end of the day, they are still friends. God bless my friends, I am really lucky to have such magnificent people in my life.
I look foward to having them over for lunch or supper another time.

Travel is cheap. Most of the time I spent an average of about 50-75 rupees to travel from here to there. This was using the 3 wheeler auto-rick's. However, the traffic and congestion is horrible. B/fast can be picked up from anything like 10-20 Rs. most of the time I was feasting on the dosa's, idlies and vadas. The filter coffee is great. A bottle of water (1lt) is only 12Rs.
Dry cleaning costs about Rs15/- per piece. This includes washing and hand-pressing changes. The time I did my own washing (yeah, one drys their cloths on a a cloths line), I got my pants and shirts ironed out by the local ironing man, just at the side of my apt. It costs like Rs5/- per shirt or pant. [ heres a pic of the guy at the corner of my road]
Cover fee for a club is approx Rs200/- (weekday). This comes with a free coupon for a beer too. Beers in the pub costs like rs90/- and a Bacardi costs about Rs360/- . All in all - a nite clubbing costs a little less then $35/- Oh yeah, the chics are hot- very hot :)-
Shoppin malls are very crowded. No elbow room to move around. Boutique shops are better to get some fun stuff.
An average meal for 4 people in a 3star resturant works out to about Rs 2000/- , or about Rs500/- per person. Fancier places can work out to about Rs2000/- per head too for the evening:)-
Most of the old building are knocked down and multistory apartments are all over the place. Heres a pic of an old buildings. This seems more like the old facade of banaglore that I remember.
