mesh '07 tickets are now on sale

Mesh '07 tickets are now on sale. AT $399/- for the two days, its worth the money !! The line-up of talkers also seem OK, they are  some of the regular loud mouths of Web2.0. However,  Richard Edelman, CEO of Edelman Co.speaks on  the tension between the openness of the Web and traditional marketing. This certainly will be an interesting session , after all -  blogopshere still remembers the Walmart scenario !!

Anyhoot, cya all there..

Blogtv review

Yesterday spent the evening at Blogtv.ca luanch event at T-dot the supermarket. The site was actually live when I did my research the prior nite. This time actally tested out some functionalty.

  • Cut myself a recording
  • Shared the same to myself via email.
  • Did a CoHostng with Charles of the KMD Insitute at UFT.
  • Had a  BSOD doing  some foo on the  machine tagged with UserID:Broadcast2 . (BLinda, I swear I did nothing !!)

The overall experince was pretty kewl. I can see some sort of activity for myself in this space. Its a for fun and  can also  be used seriously  for collobrative efforts. NEed to figure out how to 'block' users from joining a broadcast. Yeah, I want pimp myself in the After Hours Section, to be able to invite only select users to join into my  broadcast. Secondly, they also need to expand the Geo IP blocking at least into the .US zone. Afterall , early adopters to technologies are bigger in number on the southside. Audio /Video Qaality is a little fuzzy , could be because of the amibence of the surrounding and the backchatter.

Theres an emebedd video !

WTF is embed the video on eBay about ?? I just sold my rights to Blogtv. Read the EULA <Content on blogtv.ca is provided to you "AS IS" for your information and/or entertainment and personal use only and may not be used, copied, reproduced, distributed, transmitted, broadcast, displayed, sold, licensed, or otherwise exploited for any other purposes whatsoever without the prior written consent of blogtv.ca. blogtv.ca reserves all rights not expressly granted in and to blogtv.ca and all Content.>>. Anyhoot, that was just a sidebar that I found funny, as I  am - or rather supposed to be able to embed the video into eBay !! :)-

All in all, I like it. Oh, thanks for the goodie bag and webcam.. a now I am off to cut myself a video in the After Hours Section looking for a semi Gothic type of Chic, who tucks her business cards into her stockings.. hahahah :)-

Update: Removed the BlogTv video as this just feeds in without use initation !

WTF is Michael Jackson doing in Bahrain ?? Secondly whats with the 300 Pushups per day thingy ??

The superstar has been living a reclusive existence in Bahrain, where he is a guest of the king’s son, since leaving the US for the Gulf island after being cleared of child sex abuse charges last year.

Motorola & IPTV !!

Motorola's Connected Home Division completed its acquisition of Kreatel
Gartner Reports

Communications, a Swedish developer of IPTV digital set-tops. Kreatel's set-top platform paves the way for Motorola to have better and more-rapid presence in the IPTV marketplace, as well as complementing the end-to-end digital video solutions it has in cable, xDSL and fiber-to-the-premises video. With the pending acquisition by Cisco Systems of Scientific-Atlanta, Motorola will now compete more directly with Cisco for all elements of the end-to-end video infrastructure value chain - which encompasses network infrastructure, video headend and transport, MPEG-4 encoding, broadband cable modem/gateways, VoIP multimedia terminal adapters, cable and IP
set-tops, and other devices.

This is interesting space to watch-  Moto is really having some cool hand held devices but this is the first time that I am seeing them enter into this space of Cable, DSL and on the fiber VOD value offerings.

Current.tv

The next big thing in progress Current.Tv . Launch status :August 1st...

Its Mission :"The 24-hour network will target an 18- to 34-year-old audience and offer short-form content--15-second to five-minute segments--to be contributed by viewers..."

Will this type of Media take CNN/MSNBC etc by the horns ??

I think it just may. In my ClueTrain Manifesto , this is stated ...

" We are waking up and linking to each other. We are watching. But we are not waiting."

Robin I know that you track current.tv !! Any comments forthcoming ??
