This is how FEDEX started !!

I kinda found this real funny and had to reproduce :)-Picture1

Just in case you did not see this video on the news here it is again.

UPS vs Airbus

"United Parcel Service Inc., the world's largest package-delivery company, said Friday it renegotiated a contract with Airbus to delay and possibly cancel an order for 10 freighter versions of the European plane maker's mammoth new jet, the last remaining order for the cargo carrier on the books at Airbus." [source ]

This could very well mean that UPS will now have issues with the thier long drawn far east Asia market space. After all, they hae all that warehouse space and stuff like that, but no vehicles to actually move the products out from China /Korea and into thier EU and NA customers. More of the stat's on my research and tracking efforts is here

DHL not serving Canada well ?

Andy brings some me an interesting tidbit of info !!

He cribs "If you type in "DHL toronto pickup" in Google.ca (Toronto IP), you would be able to see even Google can't find anything from DHL canada. Nothing from DHL is in sight, not even any Adwords ads."

Thats pretty pathetic epxerince for the conusmer /  customer

Supply Chain Companies are not wising up to the wisdom of crowds and Customer Experience Strategies.

oh .. during recently conversation of a leading company-- I dropped the question.. "whats your customer experience strategy".. and the answer was "oh we have a call center" -dah  !!

Elephant Patrol ?

Interesting small little tidbit of fun that I missed. Thanks Susan !!

"To my surprise, the band played on, the elephants splashed away, and nobody showed up,” Bhakta said of the stunt. “I’m astounded. [..]   The elephant never made landfall into Mexico, but I tell you something, he could have made 15 laps back and forth, but no one showed up,” said Raj Peter Bhakta, a former star on the NBC show “The Apprentice,” who also is a Republican candidate for the 13th District U.S. House of Representatives seat in Eastern Pennsylvania"

The running Candidate is in favor of “sensible immigration reform” and supports a border fence, local law enforcement assistance with immigration laws and the use of the National Guard troops to help the U.S. Border Patrol.

If I can get an elephant led by a mariachi band into this country, I think Osama bin Laden could get across with all the weapons of mass destruction he could get into this country,” Bhakta said.

Fedex and UPS forward looking predications

Analyst William J. Greene of Morgan Stanley started coverage of Memphis, Tenn.-based FedEx with an "Overweight" rating and target price of $135. [..]   Greene assigned earnings estimates for the fiscal year ending in May 2007 of $6.80 per share. He expects $7.75 per share in 2008 and $9.24 per share in 2009

Greene started Atlanta-based UPS with an "Equal-weight" rating and did not set a price target.

Yes, why are the predicates on rating not been assign or disclosed for UPS ? Maybe it has to do with their Q3 Earnings conference call coming up on 19th of Oct.

Note to Self :  must track what Greens predicates and roll up this analysts views in 2007 !!

DHL moving into Heavy Airlines Cargo !!

I wrote here once  "DHL( OTC + RFD + DP World Terminal) = Marco Polo of the new age !!"

"The move is part of a strategic partnership between DHL and Polar Air Cargo which will allow DH to increase the capacity of its trans-Pacific air routes" - Forbes

DHL have moving freight into the North America on the old Airborne Grid. Now, they moving the same onto the EU grid by using this strategic partnership. Thus the leverage of weight for the Transatlantic may pay off.

DHL does have some  interesting manevours in the making. As a sidebar, they have just opened a new facilicty too.

"DHL Global Forwarding has inaugurated a new facility at the Waigaoqiao Bonded Logistics Zone (WBLZ ) in Shanghai. The new warehouse is part of DHL’s total $315 million investment in China in the past few years and aims to improve the company’s market position in China.
